EFKO Group supported business accelerator Academpark A:START

August 12, 2016, Russia – Innovation Center "Biruch – NT" (R&D Center of EFKO Group) supported the Novosibirsk business accelerator A:START, which was attended by about 100 start-technology entrepreneurs and professionals who want to join the team of start-ups, from Russia and CIS countries.

In Novosibirsk, a two-week pilot business accelerator A:START completed its work – successor of the innovative Summer and Winter Academpark schools, more intensive practically oriented program on creation and development of new businesses in the field of high technologies.

novosib_2.jpgThe accelerator was attended by about 100 entrepreneurs launching new projects in the areas of technological and manufacturing, young scientists and developers, managers of project teams and startups, senior students of economic, technical and natural science universities of Russia and CIS countries.

Traditionally Academpark program was divided into three sections: "Instrument engineering", "Information Technology" and "Biotechnology and Medicine/Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials", and included participation in round tables and workshops, lectures and workshops of experts, training exercises, individual work projects and teams and much more.

EFKO Company supported the accelerator: Tatiana Sanina, General Director of the Innovation Center "Biruch – NT" (R&D Center of EFKO Group), read for technological entrepreneurs-newcomers the lecture on trends in the area of  the food industry development and appeared as an expert of the section dedicated to biotechnology.

At the end of the contest five innovative projects of this section became the winners: a new method for the generation of bispecific therapeutic immunoglobulins, paint kit "Resistance", a universal method for isolating exosomes, research and consulting center for farmers "Agrolaboratory" and project of SRI Biocatalysis SB RAS for development of a method for producing a non-selective herbicide, which is the basis of the most used plant protection products.

According to Tatiana Sanina, when the latest project will become more detailed and studied deeply, it will have interesting prospects for further commercialization. "Innovations in agriculture are a billion-dollar markets, which have enormous potential for import substitution, and we, as one of the largest Russian agro-industrial complex, have the sights supporting the implementation of such projects", – she said.

After the end of the accelerator representatives of the EFKO Group and Biocatalysis Research Institute of RAS agreed on the possibilities of further cooperation in the sphere of implementation of Agri-biotech projects.
