19 July 2017, Russia – EFKO Group, one of the largest Fat&Oil producing holding in Russia, and Innovation Center «Biruch - NT» (R&D center of EFKO Group) became the partners of All-Russian engineering competition «VIK.Nano 2017» in Agricultural Biotechnology. The competition is held for the students and postgraduates studying nanotechnologies.
«VIK.Nano» is the first Russian engineering competition aimed at practical use of nanotechnologies, and involving students and young specialists in the nano-industry. Such events create more mechanisms for collaboration between higher education institutions and technology companies. RUSNANO Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs is the competition organizer.
The competition includes collecting projects and problem solutions from corporative partners, in such areas as alternative energetics, additive technologies, composite materials, thin-film coatings and biotechnology.
As for the biotechnological field, in 2017 it was decided to focus on agricultural sector and food industry solutions. This is precisely why the partners of the competition are EFKO Group – the largest Fat&Oil holding and one of the leading food producers in Russia – and Innovation Centre «Biruch - NT» - a specialized Group’s R&D Department, focused on developments in oleochemistry, biotechnology, food-producing technologies, feed for farm animals, genomics and selective breeding.
