EFKO Group announced the start of the program for young scientists

14 April, Moscow, Russia - Young scientists in the sector of biotechnologies, students of profile universities as well as biotech and foodtech startups will be able to participate in the acceleration program within the contest «UMNIK-EFKO». The grant fund of the contest will be 500 000 rubles.

«UMNIK-EFKO» is the first common contest of EFKO Group and Fund of innovations promoting. It aims to support projects of young scientists in the sector in the interests of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex.

The acceleration program «UMNIK-EFKO» will be online because of the pandemic of coronavirus from 15 April to 31 May. You can apply for participation here: startup@efko.ru

The accelerator is prepared by EFKO Group’s specialists and includes a range of thematic webinars that will let young scientists obtain knowledge in the sector of launching of innovation projects in foodtech-industry. The webinars will be at the platform «Zoom».

In the end of the program the contestants who did their best will be able to get investments of 500 000 rubles. By now, 11 participants of the acceleration program of the last year have already got 200 000 rubles to realize their scientific ideas.

«The participants of the contest «UMNIC-EFKO» started to realize their projects in November 2019, receiving the first part of the grant financing – 200 000 rubles. Is was supposed that in May 2020 11 winners would visit the corporative innovation center of EFKO Group to pass the acceleration program and discuss their intermediate scientific and research results. However, the world virus pandemic has modified the program and organizers decided to divide the accelerator into two parts: part-time and full-time. The part-time will be 15 April, the full-time – will be announced», - Anna Nenakhova, director of innovations of EFKO Group, told.
